Introduction: Why We Chose Baker’s Cay Resort for Our Key Largo Getaway (Twice!)
If you’re looking for the best resort in Key Largo for couples, families, or business travelers, Baker’s Cay Resort by Hilton should be high on your list. It’s a luxurious yet laid-back waterfront resort that caters to a wide variety of guests. With stunning beaches, serene pools, and a welcoming atmosphere, this resort offers everything from romance to family fun.
This was our second time visiting Baker’s Cay Resort. If you're currently planning your own babymoon, check out our other blog post: The Guide to a Florida Keys Babymoon: Your Relaxing Getaway Before Baby Arrives. We went for our first babymoon in 2023 and returned in 2025 for our second—this time with our two-year-old toddler and me being eight months pregnant. We booked smart using Amex Platinum points, enjoyed perks like a complimentary room upgrade and daily breakfast for two, and left with even more fond memories.
Whether you're planning a romantic escape, a relaxing family vacation, or just want a break from the everyday, Baker’s Cay is one of those rare Florida Keys resorts that truly lets you unwind. There’s no pressure to overschedule your days—just soft sand, calm water, swaying palms, and plenty of shaded hammocks to slow down and breathe. It’s the kind of place where you can sip your morning coffee with an ocean view, let the kids play freely on the beach, or toast the sunset with a mojito in hand. No matter your reason for visiting, if relaxation is what you're after, this spot checks all the boxes.
First Impressions & Arrival Experience

The drive into the resort immediately sets the tone. Palm-lined roads, lush landscaping, and that first glimpse of the turquoise water create an unmistakable island vibe.
Check-in was quick and courteous. The staff welcomed us warmly and let us know we could request a microwave for our room (which we did — a lifesaver for toddler meals). Bell services helped us with our luggage and ensured we had everything we needed.
It’s the kind of place where you can dress up for dinner or just wander around in a swimsuit and sandals and feel right at home.
Room Review: Comfort Meets Caribbean Vibes

Our upgraded room featured a private balcony with a water view, a king bed, and a cozy seating area. The room was spacious and perfect for relaxing between beach visits and naps. Everything was clean, the bed was comfortable, the bathroom was stunning, and housekeeping was responsive. The real standout was the balcony — perfect for sipping coffee in the morning or unwinding after a long day. That said, the furniture could use a refresh. There were some scratches on the floors and the bathroom fixtures looked a bit dated. Nothing major, but worth knowing if you’re expecting five-star luxury.
Beach & Pool Areas: The Heart of Baker’s Cay

Baker’s Cay has two private beaches:
Hammock Beach: Quiet, serene, lined with hammocks and palm trees
Coconut Beach: More active, with paddleboards, kayaks, and games
The water is calm, shallow, and perfect for young kids. Our toddler loved it. We also spent time at the resort family pool. The resort has two pools, which include a family-friendly pool with shallow areas and an adults-only pool for quieter lounging.
Beach cabanas are available to rent, but loungers are first-come, first-served. Arrive early for a prime spot!

Dining Experiences: Where We Ate
On-Site Dining
Breakfast at Calusa was included with our Amex booking, and it was wonderful. The tropical open-air setup, ocean view, and variety of options made it one of the highlights of our mornings. The staff — especially one amazing waitress — made our toddler feel like royalty.
Dry Rocks was our dinner spot one night. The food was decent, the drinks were great, and the sunset views were unbeatable. The only downside was the mosquitoes, which were relentless during evening hours.
Off-Property Dining
We also explored a few Key Largo favorites:
Hobo’s Cafe — Our favorite! We went twice. It’s casual, kid-friendly, and delicious. The fresh seafood and relaxed vibe made it an easy win.
Mrs. Mac’s Kitchen (Big) — Great for lunch, with a wide menu and quick service.
Mrs. Mac’s Kitchen (Original) — Smaller and quirkier. Known for their key lime pie and milkshakes.
🌸Please don't just take my word for it, the reviews on TripAdvisor speak for themselves. 🌸

Our toddler had a blast, and we never felt like we were out of place traveling with a young child.

Why It’s the best babymoon resort in the florida keys

This resort strikes the perfect tone for romantic getaways and relaxing pre-baby escapes. Whether you're planning your first trip as soon-to-be parents or just craving some one-on-one time before baby arrives, Baker’s Cay offers that peaceful, intimate vibe you’re probably looking for on a babymoon. The resort never feels overly crowded, and the layout makes it easy to find quiet pockets just for the two of you.
There are cozy hammocks tucked between palm trees, soft sandy beaches ideal for lounging with a mocktail, and gorgeous sunset views over the water that instantly slow your pace. I loved how I could just breathe, float, and enjoy—not feeling rushed or overstimulated like I sometimes do at bigger, louder resorts. Everything felt easy and low-pressure.
They also offer spa services, beachfront dining, and plenty of shaded areas so I never felt overheated or uncomfortable even being 8 months pregnant. I especially appreciated the attentive staff who didn’t blink twice at my special requests or toddler-in-tow babymoon setup.
Whether you’re soaking in the views from your private balcony, taking a quiet walk by the water, or just napping in a hammock, it’s the kind of place that gives you the space to rest and connect before life gets busier.
If you’re planning a babymoon in the Florida Keys, Baker’s Cay should absolutely be at the top of your list. I would call it the best babymoon resort in the Forida Keys. It’s easy to get to, easy to enjoy, and full of thoughtful touches that make you feel cared for—without ever being too formal or over-the-top.
Ideal for Business Travelers Too
We noticed a few small business groups and solo travelers. The resort offers:
Quiet spaces for working
Strong Wi-Fi
On-site dining options
Relaxing environment after meetings or work hours
It’s a great mix of productivity and leisure.
