About me
Hi! I'm Vero.
I started D' Siesta Family because I remember how intimidating it felt to go anywhere with my first baby. A quick trip to the park somehow required half the house, and planning a vacation felt even more overwhelming. I spent a lot of time worrying about packing the right things, sticking to nap schedules, and wondering if traveling with a baby was even worth it.
Now, with two little ones, I've learned that family travel doesn't have to be perfect to be wonderful.
Here, I share the places we've loved, the mistakes we've made, and the small things that made our trips easier. Sometimes it's choosing a cabin with enough room for everyone to unwind. Sometimes it's stopping for groceries before checking in. And sometimes it's remembering a portable sound machine because you're sharing a house with family. None of these things are essential, but they can make a trip feel a whole lot smoother.
You'll find family-friendly destinations, easy itineraries, nature adventures, cozy places to stay, and restaurants where kids are actually welcome. More importantly, you'll find practical ideas that help you spend less time stressing over the details and more time enjoying your family.
I don't believe you need the newest travel gear or an expensive vacation to make great memories. I believe the best trips are the ones where everyone, including Mom and Dad; gets to slow down, reconnect, and come home feeling refreshed.

About My Husband
There’s also someone very special behind D’ Siesta Family, my husband. He has a full‑time job outside of our adventures, but he still shows up with so much love, patience, and excitement for every trip we take. He’s the kind of partner who says yes to most of my crazy ideas, even when they involve long drives, new destinations, or trying something completely out of our comfort zone.
At home, he’s our chef. He loves cooking, experimenting with new recipes, and finding the best places to eat wherever we go. If you ever want the top food recommendations, from hidden gems to local favorites, he’s your guy. Exploring new restaurants is one of his favorite parts of traveling, and he’s always the first one to suggest, “Let’s try something new.”
We’ve been traveling together since the very beginning, and we even worked side‑by‑side for nearly a decade. We’re one of those couples who genuinely enjoy spending most of our time together, whether we’re on the road, at home with the kids, or planning our next adventure. He loves being a dad and watching him explore the world with our little ones is one of my favorite things.
He’s also a huge Bills fan, so if you ever see us traveling during football season… just know the game will be on somewhere.
He may not be the one writing the blog, but he’s a big part of the heart behind it; the support, the laughter, the food finds, and the steady “we’ve got this” energy that keeps our family adventures going.
The Kids
Our little travelers are the heart of everything we do. They’re the reason we slow down, explore with intention, and find joy in the simple moments that make family travel so special.
Our firstborn is incredibly kind and patient, the type of kid who makes friends everywhere he goes. He loves meeting new people, exploring the world, and discovering new places with a sense of curiosity that inspires us every day. He especially loves collecting Junior Ranger Badges and visiting National Parks, proudly adding each new badge to his growing collection. Watching him learn, explore, and connect with nature has become one of our favorite parts of traveling as a family.
Our second born is doing everything she can to keep up with her big brother. She brings so much joy to everyone she meets, the kind of baby who smiles at strangers, lights up a room, and makes every adventure feel a little more magical. She’s always happy to go along for the ride, whether we’re hiking, beach‑hopping, or trying new foods. She’s one of those babies who makes you think, “Maybe we could have more…”
Together, they remind us why we travel the way we do, and we have with so much gratitude for the memories we get to make as a family.
The name D Siesta House and D Siesta Family all started when we purchased our very first rental home in Puerto Rico. The house is located in Aguadilla on D Street, and we wanted to create a peaceful, welcoming space not just for us, but for others who needed a getaway. As we started to dream about the perfect retreat, we decided on a name that represented exactly what we wanted the house to feel relaxing and restful. That’s where the "Siesta" part comes in. If you’re familiar with Spanish culture, you know that a siesta is a short nap that helps reenergize you for the rest of the day. We wanted our guests to unwind, recharge, and enjoy their time here. That’s the essence of D Siesta House, a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life.
